About the event
Freedom School – Summer 2026
Freedom School will open this summer beginning June 15, 2026. The motto of the school is “Children Grow Here.”
This program is designed to strengthen students academically while also providing enriching and engaging experiences. Mornings will focus on reading instruction, followed by math, science, and cultural enrichment activities. Afternoons will include fun learning experiences and field trips to various events and venues throughout the city.
The school will follow the model established by the Children’s Defense Fund National Freedom Schools program.
Priority for enrollment will be given to students who:
Are rising 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th graders (priority will be given to rising 3rd graders who have completed 2nd grade).
